The Sauna

The Sauna began in 2018, when sauna builder Noda Klaxon Bebee moved to Shinano, Nagano, driven by his desire to bring the outdoor sauna culture he experienced in Finland—the home of sauna—to Japan. With the help of friends at LAMP Nojiri and the local community, he built the very first sauna, Yuksi, entirely by hand.
Come and enjoy an authentic sauna experience, just like in Finland.

About The Sauna

1st Yuksi
The very first sauna—born from imagination and passion. A hand-built sauna hut, with a bold wood-burning stove standing proudly at its core—the true heart of the sauna. Inside, the lighting is dim. You feel the beauty of pure presence in the flicker of the flames, the crackle of the firewood, and the glow poured over the sauna stones.

2nd Kaksi
The second sauna hut, Kaksi, was built in 2020 with the hands and spirit of our staff. This rare two-story sauna offers the sensation of being gently embraced by heat, while the attic invites you to gather with friends and share conversations in an exciting, cozy atmosphere. Compared to Yuksi, the space is larger, with big windows that open to the outside world, giving you a liberating sense of openness.

3rd Kolme
What kind of view would unfold if you had just one more hour in the sauna? What deeper state of blissful totonoi might be waiting? From this thought came the idea of our “twin saunas,” available only as a three-hour private session.
A dedicated cold bath, filled with pure groundwater drawn up for drinking, is also prepared. So take your time, with your loved ones or close friends, and immerse yourself fully in the sauna experience.

4th Neljä
The twin of Kolme—Nelja. Equipped with a high-powered sauna stove from Finland’s Mondex, and featuring a crafted bench made from a single slab of aged timber. Wide enough to stretch out and lie down, the bench is arranged in a U-shape so you can enjoy löyly from any position or height you like. And rumor has it that even a sauna spirit, a Tonttu, resides here to watch over the sauna...

5th Viisi
A sauna filled with the knowledge and experience gained from building all the ones before it.Designed to bring you even closer to the authentic Finnish sauna, with a focus on enhancing the löyly experience.
The cold baths are inspired by natural springs, with both a deep bath and a shallow bath to choose from.In the outdoor relaxation area, a Sound Shelter has been set up, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature’s sounds as you cool down.
Please, enjoy it to the fullest.
